MANILA, Jan. 31 -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Friday vowed to continue assisting displaced workers of Internet Gaming Licensees (IGLs), formerly known as Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs).
In a statement, Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma said the government will continue to help these workers through career fairs and provision of livelihood projects.
Laguesma said the DOLE National Capital Region has been regularly conducting job fairs for various sectors in coordination with Public Employment Service Offices and other offices.
The DOLE chief added the move is also in compliance with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to converge employment and livelihood programs of the government.
