Manila, July 9 -- The Department of Justice's (DOJ) anti-agricultural smuggling arm on Wednesday announced the seizure of 26,526 sacks of smuggled rice worth PHP38 million in a warehouse in Talisay City, Cebu.

The Anti-Agricultural Economic Sabotage (AAES) Council conducted its first enforcement operation on June 20, a day after the Executive Committee issued a letter of authority directing the enforcement group (EG) to inspect different warehouses in Kimba Compound for allegedly containing smuggled agricultural products in violation of the AAES Law.
