MANILA, April 15 -- The appointment of 98 new prosecutors will ease the heavy workload of the National Prosecution Service leading to the expeditious resolution of cases, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said Monday.

The newly promoted prosecutors took their oath before Justice Undersecretary Nicholas Felix Ty as part of the Marcos administration's efforts to overhaul the country's justice system, the DOJ said in a statement.

Five of the prosecutors currently hold office at the Office of the Secretary Justice Prosecution Staff while the rest will further strengthen the prosecution offices of Regions 1 to 4, including the National Capital Region.
