Manila, Sept. 25 -- The Department of Health (DOH) has dispatched additional supplies of medicines and health commodities to Batanes, in support of the Batanes General Hospital (BGH) and the province's local government units.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, the DOH reported that the shipment included emergency medical kits, breastfeeding kits, Vitamin A capsules, pulse oximeters, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) mannequins, which are expected to boost the province's preparedness and capacity to respond to health emergencies.

Batanes, one of the country's most typhoon-prone provinces, often faces challenges in logistics and healthcare delivery due to its remote location and frequent exposure to extreme weather.
