Manila, Oct. 1 -- The Department of Health (DOH) has deployed emergency medical response teams to Bogo City following the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Cebu Tuesday night.

In a public advisory on Wednesday, the DOH said that upon orders from Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, the first batch of medical responders from the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) in Cebu City left for Bogo early Wednesday morning.

The initial team included general surgeons, emergency medicine physicians, and orthopedic specialists, equipped with medical supplies and commodities to treat injured patients.
