Manila, Jan. 5 -- The intensified campaign launched early in December last year helped reduce the number of firecracker injuries in Caraga Region, the regional office of the Department of Health (DOH-13) said Monday.

"The intensified campaign featured advertisements on radio and other media outlets, including online news across various provinces in the region," the DOH-13 said in a statement.

Data from the agency indicated that only five firecracker-related injuries were recorded in the region from Dec. 1, 2025 to Jan. 5, 2026.

The number is lower than the 13 firecracker injuries logged in the same period in 2024.

The latest firecracker injuries were three in Agusan del Norte and two in Surigao del Norte.
