Manila, March 28 -- The Department of Energy (DOE) urged consumers in Luzon to conserve electricity this week as there will be a scheduled shutdown of natural gas facilities in the next three days.

The South Premiere Power Corp. and Excellent Energy Resources, Inc., jointly owned by Meralco PowerGen, San Miguel Global Power, and Aboitiz Power, will shut down the facilities from 9 a.m. on March 29 to 6:30 a.m. on March 31, the DOE said in a statement.

This scheduled shutdown will give way to the mechanical activities of Linseed Field Corp.'s liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal to complete the onshore LNG storage tank next month.
