Manila, Sept. 9 -- The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is set to open a Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Cambodia, following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to boost protection for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) amid a surge in scam hubs.
In a news release on Monday evening, the DMW said the dedicated office is expected to serve around 10,000 Filipinos living and working in the host country.
"We shall immediately comply with the directive of the President to establish a Migrant Workers' Office in Cambodia, through full coordination with DFA (Department of Foreign Affairs) Secretary Tess Lazaro and Ambassador Flerida Mayo," Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said.
