MANILA, June 14 -- The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is ready to repatriate Filipinos from the Middle East following the announcement of heightened alert status due to the Israel-Iran conflict.

Undersecretary Bernard Olalia said the DMW, Migrant Workers Offices (MWO) and labor attaches in the region are on high alert for any eventualities.

"We are ready to help them. Contingency plans are on standby in case it is needed. The government is ready to provide immediate assistance," he said at the Saturday News Forum in Quezon City.

Olalia reminded overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families that the agency has activated a hotline to provide assistance to those who will be affected.
