Manila, May 19 -- The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is seriously scrutinizing the controversial PHP1.4-billion land acquisition by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) under former Administrator Arnell Ignacio for alleged procedural lapses and lack of proper authorization.

In an interview on Monday, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said multiple violations may have occurred during the land purchase.
