Manila, June 7 -- The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on Saturday assured overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) anew of the government's full backing as it honors the sector on the 30th Migrant Workers' Day.
"We are here to support those dreams in far-off lands and seas, to assure you that you are not alone, that the whole nation and the government is here with you all the way -- the 'Bayanihan' spirit that is deeply rooted in us, Filipinos," DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said in a statement.
The DMW, he said, would also champion a "rights-based approach" in ensuring the protection of OFWs through its various programs.
