Manila, April 30 -- The provincial government of Dinagat Islands formalized a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) on Tuesday, paving the way for the establishment of renewable energy projects within the province.

"These projects will encompass the development of both solar and wind renewable energy sources," Governor Nilo Demerey Jr. said in a statement on Wednesday.

Demerey said the primary beneficiaries of these energy projects will be hospitals and government buildings across Dinagat Islands, ensuring a more stable and potentially cost-effective power supply for critical public services.
