Manila, Sept. 3 -- Dinagat Islands Governor Nilo Demerey Jr. was named Senior Vice President and the Chairperson for the Caraga Region of the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP).

Demerey, along with the other top officers of the league, led by South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr., who was elected National President, took his oath before President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in Malacanang on Wednesday.

"This is not only a personal milestone but a collective victory for the people of Dinagat Islands and the entire Caraga Region," Demerey said in a message to the Philippine News Agency.

Demerey added that he will work with the other league officers to ensure inclusive governance, regional solidarity, and national progress.
