Manila, Nov. 3 -- The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Monday urged all local government units (LGUs) in high-risk areas to immediately carry out pre-emptive or mandatory evacuations in anticipation of the impact of Typhoon Tino (international name Kalmaegi).
In an advisory, the DILG urged all LGUs to ensure that minimum critical preparedness actions are already in place, including the evacuation of residents "not later than today (Monday)."
LGUs are also reminded to continuously monitor weather updates to anticipate and plan out scenarios, disseminate timely alerts to their constituents using all available communication platforms, and coordinate with upstream and downstream counterparts along shared river syste...
