MANILA, Sept. 1 -- Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla on Monday said he is willing to face investigation in connection with the PHP8-billion gun purchase proposal that former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III reportedly rejected.

"If I'm called by Congress and Senate para ibigay lahat ng detalye, gagawin ko (to give all the details, I will oblige)," Remulla said in a press conference in Quezon City.

Remulla added he is willing to take a lie detector test to prove that he, too, disapproved of the proposal.

The DILG chief's pronouncement came amid allegation that Torre was removed as PNP chief for supposedly defying orders to approve the proposed firearms deal.
