MANILA, May 28 -- Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda has called on the National Privacy Commission (NPC) to name companies and apps that repeatedly violate the privacy rights of Filipinos.
In his keynote address during the 8th National Data Privacy Conference on Tuesday, Aguda asked for the creation of a monthly privacy report card from the NPC that seeks to show the companies that follow and violate the country's privacy laws every month.
"Dito sisingilin natin ang mga nagkukulang sa pagprotekta sa publiko (This is how we'll punish those who fail to protect the public). This is about building public trust and industry accountability," he said.
