Manila, July 16 -- The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) on Wednesday partnered with the Maharlika Investment Corporation (MIC) to invest in expanding internet infrastructure in geographically-isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs).

In a news release, the DICT said a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed with MIC towards a shared commitment to promote inclusive and sustainable national development through investments in digital infrastructure and services.

"Both agencies pledge to work together in addressing the country's digital infrastructure and capability gaps," it said.
