Manila, Oct. 15 -- The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) on Wednesday said the bayanihan spirit is alive in Cebu as private companies started sending workers to help the government build a "Bayanihan Village" in the quake-hit town of San Remigio.
In a news release, DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling reported that two private companies deployed their personnel to assist government workers in installing modular shelter units (MSUs) that will serve as temporary homes for families displaced by the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Cebu on Sept. 30.
