Manila, July 9 -- The fewer than 100 Filipinos residing in Kerrville City are safe following the catastrophic flooding that ripped through Central Texas last week, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed Wednesday.

"Our post has not received any reports of Filipino nationals among the casualties or those adversely affected by the calamity," DFA Undersecretary Eduardo Jose De Vega said in a radio interview.

Kerrville City in Kerr, Texas, is where the worst devastation occurred since heavy rainfall hit the state on July 2, resulting in deadly flash floods when water levels along the Guadalupe River in the area quickly rose.

He said there are fewer than 100 Filipinos living in the flood-ravaged Kerville.
