Manila, July 17 -- The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) on Thursday urged local government units (LGUs) in the National Capital Region, including other urban areas, to include science-based, proactive measures in addressing the worsening flooding amid heavier rainfall due to climate change.
In a statement, the DENR cited the striking increase in rainfall volume attributed to climate change, as indicated in meteorological data issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
