Manila, March 26 -- The number of dengue cases in Antique has been decreasing since late February, with the provincial government attributing it to effective vector surveillance and the observance of the "4 o'clock habit" by communities.

In an interview on Wednesday, Antique Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) information officer Irene Duldoco said that from 119 new cases recorded during the 9th Morbidity Week (MW) or from Feb. 23 to March 1, the number has declined to only 11 as of 12th MW or from March 16 to 22.

There were 100 new dengue cases recorded during the 10th MW or from March 2 to 8, and 61 during the 11th MW or from March 9 to 15.
