MANILA, Nov. 9 -- The death toll from Typhoon Tino, which submerged large parts of the Visayas, has risen to 224, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Sunday.
The fatalities include 158 in Cebu, 27 in Negros Occidental, 20 in Negros Oriental, eight in Caraga, three in Capiz, two in Southern Leyte, two in Leyte, and one each in Antique, Bohol, Guimaras, and Iloilo.
The number of missing persons climbed to 109, broken down into 57 in Cebu, 42 in Negros Occidental, and 10 in Negros Oriental.
Meanwhile, 526 individuals were reported injured -- 454 in Cebu, 41 in Leyte, 28 in Negros Occidental, two in Surigao del Norte, and one in Surigao del Sur.
