Davao City, July 30 -- Several provinces and local government units (LGUs) in the Davao Region have suspended classes and work due to a tsunami warning issued by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Wednesday.
In an advisory, Phivolcs instructed those living in coastal communities on the eastern side of the Philippines facing the Pacific Ocean to stay away from the beach and coast after a magnitude 8.7 earthquake struck the east coast of Kamchatka, Russia.
