Davao City, July 28 -- The Police Regional Office-Davao Region (PRO-11) on Monday cautioned protesters against burning images or effigies of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. during his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA).

In a statement, PRO-11 said violators will face charges under Republic Act Nos. 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act and 8749 or the Clean Air Act.

PRO-11 said it respects the public's right to free expression and vowed to exercise maximum tolerance.

"Nonetheless, we will not hesitate to take lawful actions against individuals or groups who seek to cause harm or danger to our community," the statement added.
