DAVAO CITY, April 8 -- The City Agriculturist Office (CAgrO) said it dispersed 26,350 tilapia fingerlings to local farmers across various districts in the first three months of 2025.

Fifty-two farmers benefited from the program since the start of the year, Aimee Evora, head of CAgrO's fishery resources management services division, said in a statement Tuesday.

In January, the hatchery distributed 10,000 fingerlings in Paquibato district; 3,350 in Buhangin district; 3,000 in Toril district; 2,000 in Talomo district; another 3,000 in Buhangin district; and 5,000 in Tugbok district.

Evora said the tilapia hatchery aims to produce 500,000 fingerlings and assist 600 farmers in 2025.
