Manila, June 10 -- The City Health Office (CHO) said it has significantly enhanced its anti-dengue initiatives through comprehensive programs and campaigns even as the city continues to report a relatively low number of cases.

In a statement on Tuesday, CHO head Dr. Tomas Miguel reported that from January to May 31, this city logged 1,682 dengue cases, fewer than the 1,942 cases recorded during the same period last year.

"If everyone just cleans their homes and surroundings, dengue cases will undoubtedly decrease," Ababon said.

As of June 2, the office has conducted surveillance in 18,258 houses and has performed outdoor and indoor residual spraying in 761 targeted households.
