Manila, Oct. 24 -- The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has started the land acquisition and distribution (LAD) process for the 228-hectare property of the University of the Philippines-College of Agriculture and Food Science (UPCA-LGRTS) in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.

DAR Western Visayas assistant regional director Lucrecia Taberna said in a statement on Friday that they are now surveying the government-owned land (GOL) and expected it to be completed before the end of October.

"In compliance with the instructions of (DAR) Secretary John Castriciones and Regional Director Sheila Enciso, the agency started to conduct the survey," she said.
