Manila, Jan. 20 -- The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has strengthened its coordination with the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) to protect agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) while addressing indigenous land claims in Barangay Delucot, Godod, Zamboanga del Norte.

"The initiative aims to prevent land conflicts, safeguard farmers' tenure security, and ensure that ARBs can continue cultivating their land peacefully and productively," the DAR said in a news release Tuesday.

It said that during a dialogue, the DAR and the NCIP discussed landholding issues arising from applications for land ownership filed by members of the indigenous communities, some of which overlap with areas previously covered by agrarian reform....
