Manila, April 3 -- With temperatures soaring and the city's heat index reaching up to 39 degrees Celsius this week, the Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) has urged residents to take precautions against heat-related illnesses.

In a public advisory issued Thursday, the CDRRMO warned the extreme heat could lead to heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and even heat stroke if proper precautions are not taken.

The City Health Office (CHO) also advised the public to stay hydrated, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure, particularly during peak hours.
