Manila, May 29 -- The Department of Agriculture (DA) on Thursday said it will soon restore the maximum suggested retail price (MSRP) for pork to help consumers amid spiking prices, in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to stabilize the prices of basic commodities.

The DA lifted the pork MSRP upon stakeholders' request on May 15, with prices set at PHP380 per kg. for "liempo" (belly); PHP350/kg. for "kasim" (ham) and pigue; and PHP300/kg. for "sabit-ulo".
