MANILA, May 14 -- The Department of Agriculture (DA) on Wednesday said it is set to lift the maximum suggested retail price (MSRP) for pork and intensify the sale of supply from Food and Terminal Inc. (FTI) in partnership with Thailand's Charoen Pokphand Foods PLC (CP Foods).
The MSRP for pork is set at PHP380 per kg. for "liempo" (belly); PHP350 per kg. for "kasim" (ham) and pigue; and PHP300 per kg. for "sabit-ulo".
As of May 13, pork prices remain high in Metro Manila at PHP390 to PHP470/kg. for liempo (belly); and PHP365 to PHP400/kg. for kasim (leg), according to the DA-Bantay Presyo (price watch).
