Manila, July 17 -- The construction of the PHP201.1-million farm-to-market road (FMR) has started in Motiong, Samar as part of the World Bank-funded Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP).

The Department of Agriculture (DA) regional office here reported on Thursday that a groundbreaking for the Maypange-Inalad-Angyap FMR was held on Wednesday.

The project, covering 10.62 km. of roadway and spanning 11 villages, is expected to transform the town's economy. It will directly connect the farming communities of Maypange, Inalad, Angyap, Cadnumacol, Mararangsi, Caranuan, Tinopanban, Bong, Pamaran-an, Calautnan, and Calantawan.
