Manila, April 2 -- The Department of Agriculture (DA) on Wednesday said more measures are underway to tighten the implementation of the maximum suggested retail price (MSRP) for pork following low compliance among hog traders.

The pork MSRP is set at PHP380 per kg. for liempo (belly); PHP350 per kg. for kasim (ham) and pigue; and PHP300 per kg. for sabit-ulo.

In an interview, DA spokesperson Assistant Secretary Arnel de Mesa relayed Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr.'s dismay after majority of stakeholders failed to comply with their agreement on pork MSRP.
