Manila, Feb. 19 -- The Department of Agriculture (DA), in coordination with the Food Terminal Incorporated (FTI), is on top of the quality control measures for the Kadiwa ng Pangulo's (KNP) Rice for All program (RFA), Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. assured Wednesday.
Tiu Laurel made the statement after "bukbok" (rice weevils) were reportedly found in some sacks of RFA rice in a KNP stall in Cubao, Quezon City.
"It's an isolated incident but it's a lesson for FTI and DA that we have to be more diligent in quality control. Don't worry I'm on top of it, JLo (FTI president Joseph Rudolph Lo) is on top of it," Tiu Laurel said in a press conference at the NFA warehouse in Barangay Malanday, Valenzuela City.
