Manila, Feb. 4 -- The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Cagayan de Oro reported a surplus collection of PHP77.1 million for January 2025, exceeding its monthly target by 2.68 percent.
In a news release Tuesday, BOC District 10 Collector Arthur Sevilla Jr. said the port collected PHP2.9 billion, surpassing its goal of PHP2.8 billion.
The surplus was attributed to the combined efforts of the Cagayan de Oro port and its sub-ports in Mindanao Container Terminal and in the cities of Iligan and Ozamiz.
Sevilla highlighted BOC's expanded port capacity in Northern Mindanao that facilitates efficient trade and boosts revenue collection.
