Manila, May 31 -- The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported Sunday that 2,300 more Filipinos abroad were infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the number of persons overseas contracting the disease to 5,184.

In its case bulletin, the DFA said the spike covers some late reports received from the Middle East.

About 1,176 more people have recovered in Asia and the Pacific and the Middle East.

The total number of recovered cases overseas is now 2,151.

The death toll has climbed to 339.

Meanwhile, a total of 2,694 Filipinos abroad are still undergoing treatment.
