Manila, July 10 -- Dave Gomez, a seasoned corporate communications executive with a background in journalism, will serve as the new chief communicator of the Marcos administration.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, in a press briefing in Malacanang Thursday, announced that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed Gomez as Secretary of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

Gomez served as communications director of PMFTC Inc., Philip Morris International's (PMI) Philippine affiliate, for over two decades.

He began his career as a reporter for The Philippine Star. He also served as Director-General of the Philippine Information Agency.
