Manila, July 10 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will pilot test its "Register Anytime, Anywhere" program in the National Capital Region (NCR) when voter registration resumes next month.

"Expect us to conduct voter registration in selected hospitals, call centers, transport terminals, airports, and other public places. We will have the registration even at night," Comelec Chairperson George Garcia said in an interview on Thursday.

"Once we have a longer voter registration period, we can adopt this program nationwide."

Though the nationwide voter registration period will be from Aug. 1 to 10, the pilot test in the NCR will be conducted only until Aug. 7.
