Manila, Sept. 11 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is looking to proclaim the 64th party-list representative in the 20th Congress next week.
According to Comelec Chairperson George Garcia, they may announce the additional lawmaker by Sept. 18.
"The Law Department and the Supervisory Group of the National Board of Canvassers have already submitted their recommendations. They are recommending the immediate proclamation of the 64th party-list nominee," he said in an interview on Thursday.
Earlier, the Comelec said it would proclaim a winning party-list representative, noting that the 63 seats allocated during the May 2025 elections do not fulfill the required 20 percent party-list composition of the Lower House.
