Manila, June 4 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will hold voter registration activities in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), Comelec Chairperson George Garcia said Wednesday.

In an interview, Garcia said they have decided to include BARMM in the nationwide resumption of voter registration next month so as not to disenfranchise the people in the region, particularly those aged 15 to 17 years.

"We have realized that that if (we) don't conduct voter registration in the BARMM, we would effectively disenfranchise them," he said.
