Manila, July 8 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Manila on Tuesday formally proclaimed Bienvenido "Benny" Abante Jr. as the duly-elected representative of Manila's 6th District in the May 2025 national and local elections.

The proclamation was held at the Office of Election Officer in Arroceros, Ermita after the Comelec en banc issued on Monday the certificate of finality and entry of judgment on the disqualification of Luis Chua Uy.

In its decision, the Comelec dismissed Uy's motion for reconsideration for failure to prove allegations that he is not a natural-born citizen.

Following his proclamation, Abante called for unity and service amid the challenges faced by families in the district.
