Manila, April 30 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is looking at the possibility of extending the period of enrollment for the online voting and counting system (OVCS).
The enrollment period, which started on March 20, is set to end on May 7.
"Now, we may also consider extending the period to enroll," Comelec Chairman George Garcia said in an interview on Wednesday.
The enrollment is for Filipinos living or working abroad who intend to use the OVCS in the May 12 midterm elections.
"We started the enrollment period early so that we can accommodate more registered voters," Garcia said.
At the same time, the poll body chief urged overseas voters to enroll and cast their votes ahead of the deadline.
