Manila, May 13 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is reminding local candidates and party-lists to remove their posters and other election materials since the campaign period for the midterm elections is over.

"We will be writing the candidates to remind them to remove their campaign posters if they have not complied," said Comelec Acting Assistant Regional Director and concurrent Antique Provincial Election Supervisor Wil Arceno in an interview on Tuesday.

He said candidates have five days after the end of the campaign period to remove their campaign materials. Otherwise, they will face sanctions based on the Fair Elections Act and applicable Comelec Resolution.
