Manila, April 25 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has identified alternative voting centers for the May 12 midterm elections in areas affected by the eruption of Mt. Kanlaon in Negros Occidental.
In a press conference on Friday, Provincial Election Supervisor Ian Lee Ananoria said he has inspected alternative voting centers in some areas of La Castellan and La Carlota City on April 23.
According to the poll body, the 718 registered voters from Ara-al and Yubo in La Carlota City will remain at their respective polling centers in Ara-al Elementary School and Yubo Elementary School.
In case of ashfall, they will cast their votes at Dona Hortencia Salas Benedicto National High School senior high school buildings.
