Manila, Feb. 4 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is looking at hiring more personnel to fast-track the verification of printed official ballots.
In an interview, Comelec chairperson George Garcia said they are looking at employing 300 people to augment the current 800 verifiers due to the slow movement in the verification process.
"We think the verification is running slow. It is being left behind by the printing speed," Garcia said.
The Comelec chief added that they are also considering using the National Irrigation Administration and the Amoranto Stadium, both in Quezon City, as venues to conduct the verification of ballots.
