Manila, Jan. 20 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has expressed support on the passage of a law that will disallow politicians to distribute government aid during election period.
Comelec chairperson George Garcia said passing a measure would help stop vote-buying activities, particularly the fight against Abuse of State Resources (ASR).
"That is a big help to the efforts of the Comelec, since we have a Committee on Kontra Bigay," he said in an interview.
