Manila, Feb. 5 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Wednesday said there is no more time to hold a plebiscite in Sulu in case the proposal to include the province in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) becomes a law.
"The plebiscite to include Sulu can't be done anymore. If that is pushed, the parliament will divide the seven into different districts, as they want Sulu to be part of the region again. That's a bit complicated and involves a long process," Comelec Chairperson George Erwin Garcia said at the Kapihan sa Manila Bay.
Garcia, however, assured that they will comply with the decision of the lawmakers regarding the proposal.
