MANILA, Jan. 31 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Friday said it has so far printed some 4.6 million official ballots for the May 12 polls, since the start of reprinting activities at the National Printing Office (NPO) in Quezon City early this week.

This figure is as of Thursday, Comelec Chair George Erwin Garcia said in a Viber message.

Garcia said the ballots were printed using the printers of its service provider, Miru Systems and NPOs printing machines.

Based on Comelec data, the running total of the official and Final Testing Sealing (FTS) ballots that have been printed is at 2,494,545 while the Canon printers of the NPO have a running total of 2,295,459 official and FTS ballots that already been printed.
