MANILA, March 20 -- The northeast monsoon or "amihan," and the easterlies will bring cloudy skies and isolated rains in several parts of the country, the weather bureau said Wednesday.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Eastern Visayas, Sorsogon, and Masbate due to the easterlies.

Meanwhile, cloudy skies with rains are forecast over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, and Kalinga due to the effects of the northeast monsoon.

Flashfloods or landslides may occur in these areas during moderate to at times heavy rains, PAGASA warned.
