MANILA, March 5 -- The government's relentless campaign against all forms of criminality resulted in the arrest of 1,886 individuals in February, the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) said on Wednesday.

CIDG chief Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III said 459 foreigners were among those arrested individuals, including 429 workers of banned Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGO) and internet gaming licensees (IGL).

He said the CIDG has conducted 1,047 operations in February, that also resulted in the seizure of PHP195.5 million worth of evidence. Among these are 128 firearms, 9,015 explosives, assorted magazines, and 1,708 rounds of assorted ammunition.
